Oil and Natural Gas Infrastructure Permitting
NPC Directed to conduct study on Permitting
In response to a formal request from Secretary of Energy Chris Wright, the Council will
re-evaluate and update the permitting section of the NPC's 2019 Dynamic Delivery study.
The study will provide practical recommendations based on current legislation and regulations
to support streamlined permitting processes and siting of new energy infrastructure.

Gas-Electric Coordination Study
NPC to Address Critical Misalignment Between Natural Gas and Electric Power Systems
Secretary Wright has requested the NPC conduct an urgent study on gas-electric coordination
to address reliability risks stemming from misaligned markets. The study will assess how
rising natural gas and electricity demand are straining pipelines, examine impacts on energy
reliability, and recommend actionable strategies to prevent reliability impacts on the
interconnected systems.
